Be still my heart. The Original Broadway Cast Recording of American Idiot was released today. For die hard Green Day and Broadway fans alike, the new arrangements alone are worth checking out the album. The singing is breathtaking. The songs are reborn in a way the Oakland punks themselves never knew they could be. Plus, "When It's Time", a deep Green Day track that was added to the rock opera, is recorded for the first time and included on the album. It was the first song frontman Billie Joe Armstrong wrote about his now wife when they were just 19-years-old. (sigh)
